The second city of barro del mundo, chan chan and los chimú
Chachapoyas, mochicas, lambayeque-sicán ... and we still had one more culture to discover in the #LatTrip before arriving in Lima: the Chimú or Chimor Culture. In Trujillo we visited what was its capital: Chan Chan, the largest mud city in the world at the time - and now occupies the second place behind Bam, in Iran. At its peak it occupied an area of 22 km2 and had a population of between 60,000 and 300,000 inhabitants - archaeologists disagree on this point. Again, even more in this case, we decided that going through adobe avenues without an explanation would not be the best way to get to know this great culture and we opted for a guided tour.
